'Capasso's edition of PHerc 346 is on a more extensive scale, comparable to that of his Polystratus. It again offers introduction, text, translation and commentary, with an 'index verborum' and some photographs of the papyrus. (...) Many of the details here are controversial, inevitably so given the fragmentary nature of the text. But C. must be right in identifying the generally protreptic nature of the work (36-7). (...) Even where one disagrees with text or interpretation one can learn much from C.'s commentary, especially on the vocabulary of Epicureanism. (...) In short, an invaluable edition, which anyone working on epicurean ethics and theology will need to consult. Lucretian scholars could also look at it with profit.' (D.P.
