'This volume consists of three unequal parts. The first is a general linguistic introduction to the interjection, the second (by far the longest) is an alphabetically organised study of each of the interjections used in Aristophanes’ extant plays, and the third is a ‘recapitulation’ which picks up some of the general issues fragmented by the lexicographical approach of the main section (paratragedy, distribution, sociolinguistics, morphology, and phonology). The short general conclusion is followed by a series of indices (…) and a bibliography.
